About the role:

As a Fund Administration Manager, you will work in a client-centric team of bright and motivated individuals. Together with your team, you will support prestigious clients in the alternative investment fund industry in their day-to-day operations through fundcraft’s proprietary platform. In your position, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all operational processes related to Fund Accounting performed by our Spanish team. As our ideal candidate you possess a deep understanding of fund accounting principles, experience in alternative investment fund administration, and strong project management and leadership capabilities. Your primary focus will be on maintaining high standards of operational excellence while adhering to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with our Head of Fund Administration to streamline processes and drive operational efficiency.

This position is based in Girona, Spain and reports to our Head of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor our fund accounting team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, and implement best practices.
  • Oversee fund administration processes, including transfer agency matters, NAV calculations, financial reporting, compliance monitoring, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the accounting and reporting output coming from our Spanish office addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively identifying opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices in fund administration and financial services.
  • Assess operational risks within fund administration processes and implement measures to mitigate risks effectively, ensuring the integrity and security of client assets and data.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on departmental performance, project status, key metrics, and trends to senior management and stakeholders.
Must-Have Experience / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund administration, audit, accounting and/or financial controlling, with a strong understanding of (fund) accounting, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record in project management, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects within the financial services industry.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems, including accounting softwares such as Odoo and Google suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • English: fluent level (spoken and written)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of (Luxembourg) fund industry regulations (e.g., UCITS, AIFMD) and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Spanish and Catalan would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Lux GAAP 
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) preferred.
