About the role:

As a Fund Accountant Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our operations team (specifically fund accountant team) and product team. You will be responsible for ensuring that our digital platform accurately reflects financial transactions and meets the needs of our clients, in a standard manner. As our ideal candidate you possess a deep understanding of fund accounting principles, experience in alternative investment fund administration, and strong project management. This role requires a blend of financial expertise, accountant knowledge, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills.

This position is based in Girona, Spain and reports to our Head of Product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide knowledge on accounting journal entries and define mappings of different types of accounting perspectives 
  • Analyze fund performance data and financial statements to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Provide insights to the product team to enhance platform functionality and user experience.
  • Analyze, clean and process fund accounting data.
  • Organize demonstration of accounting capabilities of Odoo (the software we leverage on) 
  • Collaborate with the product development team to integrate new features and functionalities into our digital platform. Ensure that all financial components are accurately implemented and aligned with industry regulations.
  • Conduct thorough testing of new product features to ensure accuracy, functionality, and usability. Work closely with the operations team to gather feedback and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide support to the product team by serving as a subject matter expert on fund accounting.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices in fund administration and financial services.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency within our digital platform. Work cross-functionally to implement improvements and drive operational excellence.
Must-Have Experience / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Advantageous to have worked on a PE, VC firm in Spain or other countries. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and fund structures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems, including accounting softwares such as Odoo and Google suite.
  • English: fluent level (spoken and written).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of (Luxembourg) fund industry regulations (e.g., UCITS, AIFMD) and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Spanish and Catalan would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Lux GAAP 
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) preferred.
